The Books Foundational To My Worldview

I rarely finish books. Reading is an intimate act between reader and author: it is to engage in conversation for hours. If reading isn't a conversation then it's socialization, which I am not interested in. Conversation is not something worth partaking in with anyone. That time would be better spent elsewhere. I am also not interested in pointless arguments, which is why I close books upon detecting dishonesty. A quality that a thinker, conversation partner and author must possess is an honest desire to both comprehend and share only the truth.

I have finished all of the following books.

Through reading these books I feel as though I am so much closer to the truth that I would consider them foundational to my worldview. I consider the authors both honest and tremendously erudite. I am confident my worldview will change and adapt, yet I would be surprised if I no longer hold these books in high regard even in the future. At the time of writing their respective books, the mean age of the authors is 59; I wouldn't be upset if it takes me half a lifetime to develop a truly original perspective.
